What is the dosage of Metanx®?

The usual adult dosage of Metanx® is one tablet twice daily and it is OK to take both tablets at the same time.

How does Metanx® work and when should patients feel the difference?

Metanx® helps the blood vessels to produce a natural vasodilator called nitric oxide. As a result, blood flow increases in the vessels that that carry important nutrients and oxygen to the nerves.9 Metanx® also works to assist in nerve functions including production of the myelin sheath, a fatty substance that protects the nerve fibers.

Give Metanx® A Chance to work for You

Most diabetic neuropathy therapies have a variety of side effects and are effective at covering up the painful symptoms, but the nerve damage continues to get worse.

Give Metanx® a chance to work for you. Because Metanx® provides nutritional management of endothelial dysfunction associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, it could take as little as 1 week or up to 4 months before you feel the difference in addressing this distinct nutritional need.

Is Metanx® Safe?

Metanx® is well tolerated in short-term and chronic therapy. The side effects and/or discontinuation rates are similar to placebo.10, 11 For complete prescribing information, see the Metanx® package insert.

Where Can I Get Metanx®?

Metanx® is available by prescription only and is available at your local pharmacy. Even if Metanx® is not covered by an insurance plan, Metanx® may be less expensive than an insurance co-payment so consult with a pharmacist.
